To save / restore the configuration of the system, you can use the 'Presets' panel (for details see here: Presets Panel). But this method of operation has two disadvantages:

  • The presets are not saved between DM launches
  • The maximum number of presets is limited

To solve these problems are encouraged to use the 'Frame Preset' tool, which allows restoring the motors position and zoom directly from the metadata of the previously saved and re-opened frames.

How to use

  1. Make sure, that your DM Server is active. It should be checked in the 'Services' list ('Services' tab, left panel). If the DM Server is not listed, you need connect to the microscope using the menu command: DM → Connect to microscope
  2. Open data from the 'Services' list ('Services' tab, left panel), if it's already over there, by double left mouse button click, or load the target image file using the menu command: File → Open...
  3. If the opened data are correct, you can use the button 'Position From Metadata' at the 'Frame Preset' panel ('Hardware' tab, right panel) to restore the configuration of the microscope system (motors position, and zoom) from metadata.
