It is necessary to calibrate a zoom encoder DALS systems only first time. Then the DALS software and its updates will use the config file with saved calibration (%PROGRAMDATA%\OctoNus Software\Digital Microscope\zoom_encoder_calibration.xml).
- Start the DALS program and connect to the microscope.
- Select the "Tools" tab. Find the "Zoom encoder calibration" panel":
- Do next steps for all ticks on the zoom wheel:
- Manually change zoom wheel to next tick (for example 6.0). You can see that the 'angle' label is changed.
- Change zoom value editbox to the correspondent zoom (for example, 6.0 again).
- Click at the button. You should see that a zoom-angle pair is added to the table:
- After you add pairs for all your zoom ticks you'll see the zoom-angle table like this:
- Go to the 'Hardware' tab and check zoom calibration by wheeling the zoom wheel manually and compare ticks with zoom value in the DALS GUI:
