Stereo cameras are not ideally aligned and require calibration. This is mostly manual process for now.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Print the calibration template from here and cut the quad with scissors:
  2. Place it horizontally, oriented towards the user as shown in the picture. Letters should be oriented normally when you look at the paper sheet.

  3. Start DM application. Focus precisely on on the surface. You can toggle off stereo (Alt + S) and use mono viewing (Alt + L for left camera and Alt + R for right one) to make sure you are focused on the surface.

  4. Please configure the flip, rotation and translation for the images in left and right eye until they will be fully aligned (T on the top, L on the left and so on). Usually this should be done without stereo glasses, when both left and right images are overlapped.

    Use following keyboard shortcuts:

Shift + F5Toggle Left Camera Vertical Flip

    Angle Z Increase / Decrease

(warning) Note: At first, please align the images at the maximum zoom, after that set minimum zoom and repeat step 4 if it's necessary.

  5. You can change the alignment at any time and at any zoom. After you exit DM application, the alignment settings will be saved for each zoom independently of others.
