These parameters are applicable to all cuts.
Stone mass is estimated using the standard density of diamond and the model geometry.
There is also the corrected mass, which is the stone mass multiplied by a certain correction factor. This is meant to fix the systematic error which may be introduced during the processing of the photographs and model building. Note that the correction factor is specific for each particular cutting type.
Besides that, the user can enter the actually measured mass of the stone. This parameter is called Scale Weight (see Entering Stone ID and Measured Weight). If not entered, it is reported as empty.
Reporting
Note that the mass appears at the reports several times with different precision, hence the multiple bookmarks. WEIGHT_CT
and CORRECTED_MASS_2
are rounded to two decimal digits (or three if Higher precision is checked in the Polish report window). WEIGHT_4_CT
and CORRECTED_MASS_4
are rounded to four or five digits, depending on the same check box. Note also that the rounding is made according to the convention accepted in diamond industry, rather than by the common mathematical rules.
